Add Flickr Photos Using the Flickr API
January 21, 2007
I have added my Flickr Photos to the Photography Page using the Flickr API, it’s too bad i didn’t think to use some of the Wordpress plug-ins, but I have always taken the long road. Anyway, I created a script that collects my Flickr data (Server, Secret, Title, Sets Id, and Photo Id) 10min and inserts them into a database. I then created a script to display 20 random thumbnail images. Once an image is selected I use Lightbox JS Slimbox to display the image. If your interested in a more in-depth tutorial let me know.

Is this an entirely Javascript solution? If not, what server platform are you using? I’ve been wanting to write a provider for services like this in my weblog engine.
Lightbox looks great, and especially the Lightbox Gone Wild. Modal dialogues in a web app generally sounded like a bad idea to me ’til I saw this implementation.
